If You Know, You Know.
Real tips from real locals. No fluff, no ads — just the stuff they don't put in guidebooks.
Dos & don'ts · hidden deals · secret spots · how to actually survive Vegas
Sign up for every club's guest list online BEFORE you arrive. It's free, you skip the line, and ladies usually get in free all night. XS, Omnia, Hakkasan all do it.
Always walk on the INSIDE of the Strip sidewalk — the outer edge is packed with timeshare hawkers and card slappers. Stay close to the casino entrances and you'll move twice as fast.
The Wynn buffet is gone but the Bacchanal at Caesars is still elite. Go for lunch — same food, 30% cheaper. Show up right when it opens to skip the line.
Secret menu at In-N-Out on Tropicana: order a 4x4 Animal Style. The locals know. Also — the In-N-Out on the Strip has a secret dining room upstairs with a view of the Bellagio fountains.
The Pinball Hall of Fame near the Strip has 200+ vintage machines for 25 cents to a play. All proceeds go to charity. Best kept secret in Vegas — zero wait, all fun, and a total time warp.
Do NOT take a taxi from the airport. The Uber/Lyft pickup is a short walk to the rideshare lot and will save you 0–40 vs. a cab. Cabs will try to take the tunnel route — always more expensive.
Download the MyVegas app and play the free mobile slots. You earn real comp points redeemable for free show tickets, buffets, and hotel stays at MGM properties. I've gotten 00+ in comps just playing on my phone.
Join every casino's free players club card before you gamble — even if you're just playing 0. They track your play and will mail you free room offers within weeks. Caesars Rewards and MGM Rewards are the best.
Red Rock Canyon is 20 minutes from the Strip and absolutely stunning. Go early morning on a weekday — almost no one there. Free entry with America the Beautiful pass, or 5 per car. Best sunrise views in Nevada.
Fremont Street Experience is free every night and way more fun than people expect. The light show runs every hour after dark. The bars are cheaper, the vibe is more local, and the people-watching is unmatched.
The Deuce bus runs 24/7 the entire length of the Strip for (2-hour pass) or (24-hour pass). Way cheaper than Uber at 2am when surge pricing kicks in. Pick it up right in front of any major casino.
Never gamble at the airport slot machines — worst odds in the city. They know you're stuck waiting and they'll take your money fast. Save it for the casino floor where at least the drinks are free.
